The TrailerTesterTM RV (RVCheck) makes light and electric brake testing fast and easy, on any RV or utility trailer, anywhere. The 9.84 pound carrier, made of medium density polyethylene, is lightweight, portable and fully weather proof. The TrailerTesterTM RV has an operating voltage of 12 vdc (nominal) and a RV 7-Wire wiring protocol. Toggle switches are used to control the left turn and right turn, testing the flashing feeds. Circuits are internally loaded and will flash into a dead circuit for easy troubleshooting. To test the steady feeds, an "On-Off Toggle" switch controls the aux, running lights, battery charge and electric brakes/stoplights. To test the stop light circuit, the TrailerTesterTM RV has circuitry that stimulates a turn signal switch/stoplight switch combo to produce an actual stoplight function and apply the electric brakes. Additionally, the TrailerTesterTM RV tests the battery circuit with or without a battery installed in the trailer. One 20 amp auto reset circuit breaker tests the aux, running and stop functions while one 10 amp auto reset circuit breaker tests the left and right circuits. A short circuit warning is indicated by a red lamp on the TrailerTesterTM RV panel. The current capacity of the TrailerTesterTM RV is 20 amps total. Mounted on the carrier for easy trailer connection is a RV 7-blade socket. An RV "Flat-4" adapter is included and tethered to the carrier. To measure brake coil draw, the TrailerTesterTM RV features a 0 to 20 amp ammeter. For normal usage, we suggest using a BCI size 24 regular car battery. If the TrailerTesterTM RV is being used heavily, try a Group 24 deep-cycle or gel-cell battery. Additionally, a battery tender can be purchased for in-carrier mounting and a longer battery life, while a power supply will eliminate the need for any battery at all. The TrailerTesterTM RV is backed by a 5 year, comprehensive warranty. If your TrailerTesterTM RV should break, we'll fix it.
